The 7 Saturdays Blueprint: Real Financial Planning
You can expect the initial planning phase to take 12-16 weeks on average – we believe it’s much better for things to be done right than done fast!
1. Discovery Meeting
45 mins
We’ll start with a complimentary discovery session (virtual or in-person at one of our Dallas area offices) to learn more about what’s on your mind and explore if working together is a good fit. If for any reason we’re not, we’ll point you in the right direction.
2. Get Organized
1 hour
After signing the engagement agreement, you’ll gain access to our secure online portal to upload your documents – investment statements, pay stubs, tax returns, insurance policies, employee benefits, mortgage statement – basically, anything in your life with a number on it!
This information is used to develop a clear, comprehensive look at your current financial situation. During our Get Organized meeting, we’ll review your information, fill in any gaps, and gain a full understanding of your current financial picture.
(Optional) If you’ve elected to have us manage your investments, we will begin transferring assets to Altruist or Schwab after this meeting.
3. Goal Setting
1 - 1.5 hours
At the Goal Setting meeting we will discuss your goals, your values, and your vision for the future as well as your expectations of the planning process and any special considerations. Your goals and values will guide all aspects of the holistic plan development. At the Goal Setting meeting, we will also discuss your investment history and assess your risk tolerance.
4. Plan Development
To develop your plan, we evaluate your information in-depth and analyze scenarios in RightCapital, our financial planning software. We will identify opportunities and strategies that align with your personal objectives.
The main work product will be a tax-efficient roadmap with specific action items for you to move confidently toward your financial goals.
5. Plan Review and Implementation
1.5 hours
During the Plan Review meeting, we’ll walk through your initial plan and discuss the recommended action items.
We’ll make sure to leave plenty of time for Q&A so you have total clarity around your roadmap!
6. Ongoing Support
After plan delivery, we will check in periodically as your accountability partner to make sure implementation is on track and provide assistance if necessary.
We’ll plan on two focused meetings per year to review progress toward goals, develop current-year tax strategies, advise on employee benefits, and refine the overall plan as life changes.
When questions or decision points arise, you’ll have prompt access to a trusted advisor who will act as your outsourced CFO. We can also collaborate with the rest of your team – CPA’s, estate attorneys, etc. to ensure your overall strategy is in alignment.
