Virtual Financial Advisor: Work With Us From Anywhere

You don’t need a local advisor to get great financial advice.

At 7 Saturdays Financial, we work with clients nationwide through secure video meetings. Whether you’re across town in Dallas or across the country, you’ll receive the same personalized retirement planning experience.

About half of our clients have never set foot in our office. They found us online, scheduled a video call, and realized that virtual financial planning actually works better for their lifestyle.

How Virtual Financial Planning Works

Working with a virtual financial advisor is simpler than most people expect. Here’s our process:

Initial Consultation We meet via Zoom to discuss your situation, goals, and concerns. You’ll share your screen to show us accounts if helpful, or we’ll share ours to walk through concepts together. Most clients say it feels like we’re sitting across the table from each other.

Document Sharing We use a secure client portal where you can upload tax returns, statements, and other documents. No printing, scanning, or mailing required. Everything is encrypted and accessible 24/7.

Ongoing Meetings Planning meetings happen via video conference, typically 60-90 minutes. We share screens to review your financial plan, investment portfolio, and projections in real-time.

Between Meetings You have direct access to your advisor by email, phone, or scheduled video calls. Questions don’t wait for quarterly meetings — we’re responsive when you need us.

Paperwork Account applications, agreements, and authorizations are handled through DocuSign. You can sign documents from your phone in under a minute.

Why Work With a Virtual Financial Advisor?

Access to specialized expertise Your ideal advisor might not be in your zip code. Virtual planning lets you work with someone who specializes in your exact situation — like retirement income planning — rather than settling for whoever happens to have an office nearby.

Convenience No commuting, no parking, no waiting rooms. Meet from your home office, kitchen table, or wherever you’re comfortable. Clients tell us they’re more relaxed and focused in familiar surroundings.

Better preparation When clients meet from home, they have easy access to their files, computers, and records. Questions that might require “let me get back to you” in an office can often be answered on the spot.

Same quality, lower overhead We don’t pay for fancy office space in expensive buildings. That means we can offer competitive flat fees for high-quality service.

Who Benefits Most From Virtual Financial Planning?

Virtual financial planning works well for almost everyone, but it’s especially valuable if you:

  • Live in an area with limited advisor options — Rural areas, smaller cities, or places where most advisors are commission-based
  • Travel frequently — Snowbirds, remote workers, or anyone who splits time between locations
  • Have a busy schedule — Executives, business owners, or professionals who can’t easily leave work for appointments
  • Value convenience — Anyone who prefers video calls to in-person meetings
  • Want specialized expertise — When the best advisor for your situation isn’t local
  • Recently relocated — Moved for retirement or work and want to keep your existing advisor relationship

Is Virtual Financial Planning Secure?

Yes. We take security seriously and use the same protections as in-person advisors — often more.

Video conferencing: We use Zoom with password-protected meetings and waiting rooms.

Document sharing: Our client portal uses bank-level encryption. You control what you upload and can access your documents anytime.

Account access: We use read-only integrations to view your external accounts.

Communication: Sensitive information is shared through our secure portal, not regular email.

Our custodians, Charles Schwab and Altruist, provide additional protections including SIPC insurance and their own security guarantees.

What Technology Do I Need?

Not much. If you can make a video call, you can work with a virtual financial advisor.

Required:

  • A computer, tablet, or smartphone with a camera
  • Internet connection (standard broadband is fine)
  • Email address

Helpful but not required:

  • A quiet space for meetings
  • Ability to share your screen (we can walk you through it)
  • Scanner or phone camera for documents (photos work fine)

We’ve worked with clients in their 70s and 80s who had never used Zoom before. If technology feels intimidating, we’ll guide you through it step by step.

Frequently Asked Questions About Virtual Financial Planning

Q: Can I really get the same quality advice from a virtual financial advisor?

Absolutely. The quality of financial advice depends on your advisor’s expertise, not their proximity. Video meetings allow for the same in-depth conversations, screen sharing, and collaborative planning as in-person meetings. Many clients find virtual meetings more convenient and just as personal.

Q: How do virtual financial planning meetings work?

We meet via Zoom video conference, typically for 60-90 minutes. You’ll see your advisor on screen, and we can share screens to review your financial plan, investment accounts, and projections together. It’s interactive and collaborative — not a webinar or presentation.

Q: What if I’m not comfortable with technology?

That’s okay. We work with clients of all comfort levels, including many who had never used video conferencing before working with us. We’ll walk you through the setup step by step, and our client portal is designed to be simple and intuitive.

Q: Is virtual financial planning secure?

Yes. We use encrypted video conferencing, a secure client portal for document sharing, and read-only account integrations. Your information is protected by the same security standards used by major financial institutions.

Q: Do you ever meet with clients in person?

Yes, when it makes sense. We have office locations in the Dallas area for clients who prefer in-person meetings. Some clients do a mix — mostly virtual with occasional in-person meetings for major planning discussions.

Q: What states do you work with clients in?

We’re registered to provide financial advice in all states, except Louisiana. Our clients span from coast to coast, including Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and everywhere in between.
